The trap: this is not how much carpet to order
Carpet comes off a roll of fixed width, normally 12 feet, so what you buy is a length of roll rather than an area — and the strip left over down one side is bought whether it gets used or not. A 300 square foot room genuinely needs more than its 33.33 square yards.
